Profiles are the main form, and the questions are technical: what a theme does harmonically, why a cue enters four bars before the reveal, which instrument was chosen to stand for a character, and what it cost to record live rather than sampled. Composers are asked what they cut, and what a schedule made impossible.

Storytelling examines how music does narrative work across film, television, games and theater — motifs standing in for characters, harmonic movement signaling change, silence used as punctuation — with examples drawn from specific cues and named bars. Narratives analyzes complete scores rather than single moments: how a theme is introduced, varied, withheld and finally resolved across two hours or a full season, with adaptive game scores treated as their own structural problem. Books reviews the literature around music — composer biographies, orchestration manuals, oral histories — stating the level assumed and whether a reader needs notation to follow along. Soundtrack News reports the trade as it happens: composers attached to projects, release dates, late replacements, awards submissions. Business News follows the money behind scored music — sync licensing rates, publishing ownership, work-for-hire terms, streaming income — with contract mechanics explained plainly.

Awards-season campaign lines are not reprinted. A score leaning heavily on its temp track is described that way. Session players and orchestrators are credited by name.
